New Telephone System

We have been given a new phone system by Ken Nickerson of NickTel Systems in Kingston. We thank him very much for this extremely generous gift. We also ask you to bear with us as we become familiar with the system!

When you call the library now, you will get a phone menu. We’ve tried to make it simple and straightforward, to get you quickly to the person who can help you with whatever you need. Please let us know if you encounter a menu choice that doesn’t work or is confusing.

Our goal, as always, is to give you friendly, effective, and efficient service!

Library Budget News

The Library book budget for Fiscal Year 2010 is almost $40,000 less than our FY 2009 budget. Combined with the $20,900 cut we sustained in Fiscal Year 2008, the book budget is now about $60,000 less than it was three years ago. Your generous gifts are more important than ever, and we are grateful for every donation, large and small.

Thank you for showing such strong support and appreciation for your library!

News from the Mass. Department of Health

Looking for a Flu Clinic? http://flu.masspro.org/clinic/ is a flu locator web site that lists public flu clinics in Massachusetts. Currently, the clinics listed are providing season flu immunizations and some clinics are offering pneumococcal (“pneumonia”) immunizations. The site also has links to the most current information on both seasonal and H1N1 vaccines from the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and the CDC. When it becomes available, the site will list public clinics that provide H1N1 swine flu immunizations.
